John Caines OBE is a Chairman, Investor and Business Coach who enables businesses and business people to achieve their goals following his own successful entrepreneurial career. Disillusioned with corporate life at an early age, he took an MBA at London Business School before setting up his first business at 26. He developed two software and service companies before leading the Management Buy Out of an eight person business, which he turned, into a profitable £40 million p.a. group that is now quoted on the London AIM Stock Market. In the process, he raised private equity, started local operations in seven European countries and completed eleven company acquisition and disposal transactions. After a successful exit from his main business in 2001, John turned to helping other business leaders, especially entrepreneurs through a portfolio of directorships, coaching and consulting assignments. He has led both company turnarounds and rapid growth situations. He has chaired a thriving Business Angel Network and personally invested in eighteen early stage companies over the past five years. As its Chairman, he repositioned one company to achieve a return of five times initial investment within a year when co-investing alongside a venture capitalist. Awarded an OBE for “Services to entrepreneurship and business…”, he is a frequent speaker at events for the entrepreneurial community on the subjects of business leadership and early stage business funding.
